Sunset

I live among the sunsets, all around the dying flames of family and friends. Shared dawns so vibrant, now so far away, still remain remembered with affection as are the days lost early in the morn. The sultry afternoons we shared, passion at its glorious, youthful lofty height, soon softened into mellow winter eves. I live among the sunsets, all around; as I await the dark and midnight hour.

Love your poem, Terry, with deep feelings. "I live among the sunsets, all around;" - this line brings a sense of sadness - which many of us are experiencing. Thank you for visiting my page - truly appreciate.

Sense the depth of feelings you convey. Its melancholic tone is tugging at my heart chords. I am reminded of the final sunset and the impending darkness that is to descend soon. Great poetry Terry.

What a metaphorical and deep write this is, i can resonate too. I love amongst sunsets too. Beautiful yet ephemeral! This is brilliant!

Wow Terry I expected the usual bright sunny sunset poems ( like I do). This is unique. The meaning of sunset is taken to a different realm, and I guess its beginning to affect us all as we get older. I was captivated, put myself in the writers position, the sultry afternoons we shared..... Meaningful, and passively written so tenderly. I remember the first poem I read of yours. You podium placed and I didn't. I didn't understand it ! Yours was a simple emergency call by a child. The next day I went back and read yours again. I understood. Your message understated but the message screamed out loud and clear. You earned my admiration as a poet on my second reading. I did not have to read this one twice Terry. A favorite.
