sallow confined to the shadow though his glance reaches across the void solvent so far in my averted gaze this man will not stop the sun falling on my face my air is purified, greyness swerves me salt cellars absorb his intention whilst I calculate my route to the door does he edge towards me? walls close in, exits recede the street now menacing battling my own capacity to be impolite my posture neutral, uninviting I cannot assume I am stared at nor can I carelessly walk out into the back streets I pray the door revolves and others bustle in create a moment of escape it only takes seconds to be engulfed by shadow this is the time before where help is surely on the way the time when I was safe in the sunshine

A harmless yet somehow evocative painting Dilly, interpretation is your forte, and you certainly don’t disappoint the reader with this one, you depict a woman in her own awkward crisis, waiting for the right moment to get the hell out of there, Bringing the revolving door into play is genius, all it has to offer, yet offers nothing, brilliant, cheers David

Ahh you're very kind, thank you. There's a lot of subtle interest in Hoppers paintings, generally regarding isolation. I appreciate you generous comment.
