Opposite where we used to live was a massive farm that took up half the small town we stayed in just outside Johannesburg - the farmer used to plant mealies one year and sunflowers the next - the sunflowers when I opened our bedroom curtains were like a glorious sunshine every morning. Very well penned John and many congrats on your win. Blessings, Jennifer.

I spent my childhood in a city that was so hot only the sun flowers thrived. We made good use of them by roasting them and eating tons of them! I loved your tribute to this amazing flower John. Congratulations on your second place win! I loved this entry! Blessings xxoo

Connie, when I was growing up our next door neighbors had a 5-foot wall between our homes and 6-foot sunflowers peeking over the top spreading their rays of optimism! I'm glad we share a love of this beautiful and amazing work of art. Thanks for the wonderful words, I feel them deeply. Hugs ~ John

John, maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I love the way you set up your Yalto to look like a flower stem. Way creative my friend! You have really captured the courage and positive energy of this flower - the way people feel when they see it - and the way it draws us to look up and follow the "sun." High fives as you round the bases! Congratulations.
