Summer Treasure
SUMMER TREASURE
The crimson sun of demure dawn
burns to show summer hasn’t yet gone,
sapphire sky of noon still glitters,
with the strong shimmer of its own.
From the horizon hot wind blows,
warm embrace on bowing leaves flows,
sunburst streaks the lean trees filter,
cool reverie grows on shadows.
The southern zephyr at twilight
wafts vivid hues of the dusk bright.
On my canvas it spreads color,
for me paints summer of delight.
Through tepid air nightfall I see
moondust dances in ecstasy
in the glimmer of my mind where
I treasure summer rhapsody.
