Summer Song

The hues of departing spring leave for me a bunch of red rose I keep in my heart, with pearls of love as bright as dew could be, in summer’s brunt the flowers don’t get hurt. In mid-summer moonshine night I’ll take you to the brink of bubbling brook through stardust. With rose of my blooming heart in your view I’ll make bouquet of love for you to last. Tuned to the murmur of the sparkling stream I’ll compose for you my love’s symphony. In the glint of your eyes I’ll see my dream of entwined hearts designed for destiny. Before I stop to sing my summer song, beguiled me will feel, to me you belong. May 7, 2021 Syllable count : 10 per line (howmanysyllables.com) Contest : Summer Love Sonnet Sponsor : John Hamilton
