Summer Rain
Defiant clouds have come to my defense
A summer storm to wash away the pain
Bereft of love, the sun seems more intense
It burns the loneliness into my brain
The rain knows of the sadness it can sense
I face the truth with smiles no more to feign
The angry thunder knows just how I feel
Now you are gone, heartache I can’t conceal
