Suit and Tie

Flackmoth says he wouldn’t be caught dead in a suit and tie; but then ruefully reflects he likely will – unless he doesn’t die. Either way, with or without, he still will have to be laid out – and if stripped of every thread of clothes and stark naked, please, keep the coffin closed.

ha! funny one, maurice! my son (aged 42) once told me he instructed his wife to make sure he's not buried in a suit and tie because he hates wearing them and wouldn't want to be wearing one for all eternity. he's a lawyer, but fortunately, rarely has to appear in court so he can dress "business casual," which means nice shirt and pants but no tie or jacket...

Yes, many men dislike formal dress. I'm just the opposite; I'm very comfortable in a suit and tie, and when younger was always complimented for my good taste. Now in old age, I prefer more casual wear – buttons are a pain as is knotting a tie. I prefer a Nehru collar on a shirt, and velcro trousers for a belt. Old age does have advantages! Thanks for stopping by. / Maurice
