SP, a haunting mixture of disease and even a few antipsychotic drugs mixed in. We hope those afflicted can get the treatment they need and live somewhat normally. Apparently, not that uncommon a disease affecting about 1% of the population. So many of us come in contact with this in some way.

This is an amazing journey into the labyrinth of a highly confused mind. The ones I pity most in life are the schizophrenic people fated to live in constant delusions and hallucinations. They lose touch with the realities of life and are constantly troubled by "hollering hellhounds".... the very phrase conveying the intensity of the inner turmoil they feel everyday. From the very opening lines you have entered into the complexities of the broken mental state of an insane person and have employed your usual technique of using alliterations and challenging and 'grueling' words. You alone can write this way.

Yes you sure captured the tone of this mental illness. My dad was schizophrenic. It is such a hard thing. Both for the one inflicted with it and for those who cope with that person. Was this for the alliteration contest. You certainly used them a lot.

Your poem delves into the tumultuous and disorienting experience of living with mental illness, painting a vivid and evocative picture of the internal struggles and external challenges faced. The opening lines immediately establish a sense of isolation and confusion, with the speaker hearing "hollering hellhounds" but finding "nothing close, nobody home.. The use of alliteration and assonance throughout the poem adds to its sense of disorientation and chaos, mirroring the fragmented and disjointed nature of the speaker's thoughts and experiences. Words like "paranoia," "pleaching," and "poohing" create a cacophony of sounds that reflect the inner turmoil of the speaker's mind.

Well written on schizophrenia! Youve described it so well there! The paranoia constant hallucinations and psychosis that comes with it all so well described and articulated! What a brilliant and profound poem this is! I love the opening lines as well as the ending. Schizophrenics are often frowned upon in this world and they deserve kindness too and to write about this illness is an excellent way to raise awareness on how it is with exquisite alliterations! Pleasure reading.Sending you light

the almost stream of consciousness quality of your poem certainly captures the nature of a schizophrenic. The constant almost disjointed chatter never stops. I've known a few schizophrenics...when in balance they seem to torture themselves with Why? Why me? Hard to pick just one line to like the last three seemed to resonate with me. Your poem is truly brilliant. Wishing you a pleasant evening, you poetess friend in Texas, Sara
