Stuck In Orbit

Here I am Stuck in orbit Which satisfies my need to run But feeds my need to return I question who I am The fractured and torn apart soul Who tries to leave whilst marching back Here I am At the furthest point The point of no return You can never travel back To fix the past But how can cycling back around Mean no lesson learnt but harm repeated Here I am Who'd have thought it Destined for destitution Yet riding high on the axis Never quite burnt up in the atmosphere But neither stronger, weaker nor wiser Just hopeful Here I am Believing this is the time You won't just sit whilst the World turns You'll see the stars or the sun rise Engage in the journey I won't just narrate the life you could lead Your dream will be your reality Here I am One of the dreamers As we watch chances whizz by You allow them all to pass I hold each in my hand Me certain each is the last opportunity You certain tomorrow is the day Here I am Doing my best Remaining in orbit Not knowing why My purpose being perpetually torn Occasionally shouting to the Heavens That there is still a chance for you
