"The bubbling brook doth leap when I come by . . . "
Jones Very, Poet, 1813-1880

It was morning and peaceful by the flowing stream
and green-
The pines, spruce and foliage hung in hues bright,
and ferns and mossy rocks were sweet delight;
it was such a beautiful nature scene.
I walked a bubbly stream calm and serene,
it was lovely in the soft dappled light;
hidden in shade a flock of birds took flight.
Around a bend- a roar came quite unforeseen,
oh, I came upon a falls cascading;
a dream-
it was wonderful, soothing and so cool,
with gleam-
I waded in the falling water pool,
and all about birds were serenading;
I do not want to count the moments of this day,
but dawn is calling and my dream has faded away.
