Strand Theater

Strand theater those days of sitting inside that dark place, with another world up on the screen is such ages away from me now. From 1952-56 you were where I spent my summer days, as old shep my favorite dog of all time waited so patently for me. High Noon, It Came from Outer Space, Them, Shane and Invaders From Mars, were just a few of the great movies I saw there, for the price of a dime and double feature Even. My world of trouble was left outside when I came into that dark movie house of so long ago. Loved those movie posters in the lobby of coming movies and loved the memories you gave a young boy and a old man. wrote 8-27-08

As kids, we too, spent many a matinee at the movies, many summer days, and even wintertime, on Saturdays. I remember they ushered us in with a flashlight in those days. Going to the movies was one of my favorite things to do....I still love those old movies we get on TCM satelitte tv...better than anything else on television!! Jimmy Stewart, Gregory Peck, Gary Cooper...they don't make them like that anymore!!!!
