Stormy Night

The nor 'easter came with pounding rain. Heavy walls of water cascading down. I listened to the repetitive refrain. The stormy night's only sound. High winds, to an island, very well known Raising the din to, a thunderous clatter. Wind sounds, between a wail and moan. Lifting, and swirling debris to scatter. Evening came, the wind grew stronger. Bringing powerful, dangerous gusts. A forceful attack, the storm, a monster, pushing it's way in, with vicious thrusts. The crashing waves, battered the sand, rolling in to cover much of the beach. Water rose up to the dunes grass land, the path was the only area kept out of reach. The churning water, huge curls of white were racing in with force and power. Doubt and fear, ruled the night, enough to make a strong man cower. Debris washed up by the strong tides, seaweed, driftwood, and broken shells. Left behind, as raging power subsides. Receding back to join the heavy swells. As night became day, it began to quiet. The raging wind, slowly became calm. Sound was no longer like chaotic riot. The storm soothed, by nature's balm.

You have described this so well Sandy. I know what those howling wind storms are like. You have shown what it feels like at the ocean. Great one :)

A storm's fury. I stayed on the island during Hurricaine Sandy, an experience that I will never forget. I would think you have seen a storm or two. Thank you, Rico. Glad you enjoyed it.
