Regarding your kind letter of last Tuesday, I have no intention these charges to pay Since I have never been inside your store, Never even been to Chicago; what’s more Since I do not make any purchases on-line [Which always seemed to work for me fine] Now, I hope you catch this sorry-a**ed crook Who has apparently my card numbers took And I’ll be most pleased if you do not retort You are sending notice for my credit report! I am sure you will understand my chagrin, And both of us hope it won’t happen again. written November 6, 2021

This is fiction, Paghunda, although a credit card was compromised over last weekend. That has all been straightened out now. How? I don't know. I was attempting to soothe my wounded ego with a bit of comedy here.

Glad you can laugh about stolen identity... It can be pretty painful sometimes. Technology has opened the door to a burgeoning crime wave, it seems to me. So much time and money wasted on protecting what we have, and the crooks outsmart it all anyway... Oh, well. There's no going back to yesterday. ~ Gershon

So true, my friend. It is no laughing matter! I changed the circumstances a bit and tried to have a little fun with it. No, we cannot go back, and sometimes it's mighty hard to go forward!!!

Hope this is fiction Milton, have read real horror stories about identity theft, people have had to jump through hoops to prove they've had their identity stolen. Tom

Partially, Tom. One of my credit cards was compromised last Sunday. They charged nearly $1000 but I caught it that afternoon and reported it to the card fraud department. They immediately put a stop on that card number, credited my account for the charges, and are sending me a new credit card. It is important to catch these things right away. Somewhat the background for my humorous pen.

Partially, Ilene. See my explanation to Tom. Yes, it is a headache when these things happen. It pays to be very alert with credit cards and bank accounts!
