Still Wandering
To Saskatchewan prairies,
now doomed to snow cover,
the freshly cut harvest
settling with dew,
and frost,
the remnants of sacrifice,
and I too partake, in the breaking
of bread-
all at due cost,
for here my life is at stake, and set
with the
burning of the sun
on golden fields mid afternoon,
to etch my destiny,
until my life
is done
