Sometimes the information just stops It's all squared off, but it feels too little Perhaps we can't trust what we see Maybe everything is between the lines All I need for this image is stored already I've read that paper in the dim light Placed it there in another reality I'm within and beyond the canvas Captured in ink, somewhere I need to burn my fingers on the bulb Create disarray Check if under the rug is another rug And another rug There's no headline, not on this non day No one filled in the details Just a barrier between me and the pool of blue And lies about the light sources

Great. I still remember seeing a newspaper on the breakfast table before I went to work. That day, as a cashier at the store, I’m subliminally asked, “Did you hear about Matt L?” This Senior classmate rode my bus, had dated my best friend, his Dad was my science teacher. “No, what?” …he drowned…read between the lines, the light on subject, the masked news…funny what you remember.

Gosh, it's strange how we catalogue memories

You certainly have read a lot between the lines here in this strange still life (caricature) Dilly, you have quite an extraordinary imagination even for a poet, which in my book elevates your status right up there with the best, cheers David

Thank you David, it's useful in my line of work to be able to extrapolate many steps ahead in multiple tangents. Less useful if you just want to choose a sandwich haha. I appreciate this fine praise though, thank you :)

I enjoyed your poem. Reality can sometimes burn like a hot lamp. Sometimes, I can escape. Best luck to you too.
