Stepping Through Time - Swaying My Body
Must have been the rum punch I had drunk
I slept like an angel, out of that sleep I dreamt,
I am standing alone on the sandy beach, a figure emerges
out of the mist, I didn’t stare or acknowledge him
Suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around me from behind
Swaying my body close to his, I was so scared, I cried out
"Shhh" the sweet gentle voice said, I closed my eyes,
he turned me to face him, then we waltzed to soft music of Mantovani
waltzed and waltzed across the promenade, felt so free.
Didn’t want this magic time to end.
Bodies together as though bound with tape
We danced ‘til the sweat poured down our faces
The argentine tango was a blast,
his smooth hands followed my body line
I didn’t feel ashamed, wanted more.
Head resting on his shoulder, we waltzed again
Cooling down our fevered bodies
Heaven was here, riding my own special cloud
With Fred Astaire as my partner, was so happy
Until with eyes closed he called me “Ginger”.
