Stark Comparison

He was beaten down with cruelty No child should ever endure Shamed beyond the edge of light Leaving pain without a cure But this didn't let it ruin him Many other paths he could have chose Instead, he created a successful life It is a miracle this walking sun rose Over 30 years with his loving wife Stable children, fulfilling their dreams This man, still with his wounds, Makes all possible it seems He deserves this happiness To shine the rusty coin of pain He deserves this stark comparison Just as the sun after the rain Heidi Sands 7/28/19
