Squirrels Mocking Peanut

Peanuts, peanuts tan and brown everywhere. On the trees and on the ground. I yell, “Peanuts” and my doggy comes a running, running, running. Squirrels in the trees, squirrels in the attic, stand, pose and mock quick running. Squirrels up the fence, up the trees, along the gutter, down the hole. Doggy barks, barks, and barks tries to shinny, squeeze in the gutter. Squirrels look up “tick-tick”, “woof, woof” chatter, chatter lick that silly, icky, spiky, bulky dog stuck in the icky, sticky, tinny, shiny gutter. 3/23/2019

My Yorkie gets the scent of the squirrels and he runs and chases after them... it is so funny but it looks like if he could he'd climb the tree. One day one of those little critters clutched to the trunk upside down of the tree half way up just looked down on him and looked like it was mocking him.

Hi Eve, Peanuts sounds like a darling, and such a squeaky clean darling doggy until he found the muddy patch, when he became a muddy darling! What a cute, poem that clearly tells of the love you have for your lovely doggy, Peanuts. Love this poem! Good luck in the contest Eve Poetry hugs - Jennifer
