Squirrels Mocking Peanut
Peanuts, peanuts
tan and brown everywhere.
On the trees and on the ground.
I yell, “Peanuts”
and my doggy comes a running,
running, running.
Squirrels in the trees,
squirrels in the attic,
stand, pose and mock
quick running.
Squirrels up the fence,
up the trees,
along the gutter,
down the hole.
Doggy barks, barks, and barks
tries to shinny, squeeze in the gutter.
Squirrels look up
“tick-tick”, “woof, woof” chatter, chatter
lick that silly, icky, spiky, bulky dog
stuck in the icky, sticky, tinny, shiny gutter.
