Spring Is Not All About Beauty

Spring is not all about charming beauty.
Like all seasons, Spring has her many faults.
Spring Cleaning, once a chore and main duty,
Lies deeply hidden in my secret vault.

I might as well mention angry weather--
Gale Wind, along with partner, Blowing Dust.
Grit covers all, I would so much rather
hear lovely raindrops than a windy gust.

Cold lingers, at night I can feel its chill.
Altho sky is soft blue, trees remain bare.
We often need to don a warm coat...still,
there's a magic restlessness in the air.

Spring's preparing her grandest arrival
featuring buds of green--life's survival!

Every season has its plus and minuses ! Spring, as you rightly feel is not all beauty ! Spring cleaning steals so much of our time. Dusty wind is another menace. You have realistically featured the less brighter side of Spring. All the Best in the contest dear Ann.

Dear Valsa, thanks for your comments! Actually, we don't have the duststorms like we did long ago, thank goodness! Still, there's dust in the air that ends up on my furniture :)

Hi Ann, I enjoyed reading this :-) And so true... all seasons have their faults. Spring cleaning for sure! ... Not a fun part of spring time. But still, it's lovely to see the daffodils and tulips. Hugs Anne :-)

Dear Anne, I don't do spring cleaning any more :) I actually love spring and the beginning of green--nature's promise-- but I don't like the wind. Thanks, dear Anne!

I believe that every season has its good and bad. Funny you missed spring allergies. Many suffer from it. Still I loved your poem.

You're right, I did miss them. I have asthma all year, tho. Thanks for your comments! :)
