Spring Is Here At Last
Daffodils lead the way, showing off their yellows.
Violets pushing through mushrooms, pliable fellows.
Tulips are eager but lilacs have the first turn.
April has been wet. Do I see my first fern?
Verdant grasses are alive with new clover galore.
The cat and the dog fight to be first out the door.
So many firsts are in my yard, wet with dew today.
Spring is here at last! A big hip hip hooray.
I throw out my arms, embracing the day, oh so warm.
A picnic with watermelon. The ants are ready to swarm.
Everything is refreshed, excited, I am glad to be alive.
Joyful and enthusiastic to be here on this date May of five.
