Spring Arrives
I rest in Winter's scorn for Spring to come
And watch thin sun thrust light on shadows low
I'll wait in dusk and cold until they grow
When warm sun's gleam cause Winter to succumb
And Spring arrives at end of Winter's thrum
Green leaves will sprout, unwrap in sunlight's glow
Winter will creep away though passing slow
And wings of honey bees begin to hum
The days of Spring will drizzle softer rain
To wet a Winter's ragged brown of need
And free brightest colors from Winter's grime
Beneath the sunlit realm of Spring's domain
As birds aloft begin their search for seed
The Spring again will roll the wheel of time
