Spiral-Faced Lion
The spiral-faced lion lays on the sand at sunset,
But suddenly that evening, his and a mermaid’s eyes met.
So strange was he, but how compassionate she was,
Knowing he could neither see or sense beyond his paws.
The spiral-faced lion only heard her wash ashore beside him,
As the mermaid kindly embraced the lion on a whim.
She sensed how sad and lonely the spiral-faced lion had been,
But knew he was strong in knowing where he belongs, truly like a lion.
The mermaid rested upon the lion, reassuredly whispering,
“You’re very majestic as you lay near the sea, as the sunset’s glimmering.”
It was then the spiral-faced lion found fulfillment,
In finally knowing his worth, without ever having to see it.
