Spinning Turkey

Written: November 17, 2023, For, Tania Kitchin ___________________________________________ The kiddies would giggle and clap The turkey flaunted his dire flap He would spin and twirl With a giddy swirl Thanksgiving never was a trap We had once a flattered turkey Whose plumage was oddly quirky He swung with such grace A smile on the face Bear Thanksgiving blithe and perky

This was a fun one Sotto! We once had a pet turkey, well he was a pet to us children, sadly, our dad thought about him as dinner. I'm glad your turkey was not ill fated to be plated :) I love your happy poem!

The first stanza made me laugh! Haha what a fun read, you really are good at writing on any theme and form effortlessly, I especially loved “ The turkey flaunted his dire flap He would spin and twirl With a giddy swirl“ excellent imagery that truly left me in stitches i can imagine kiddies laugh. Very fitting for thanksgiving too. Goodluck in the contest. You’ve nailed it.

You are a master of all forms. The image of the turkey you have painted is quite impressive. Along with the humorous notes, it gives sad undertones.
