Speak Your Truth

Speak your truth, I have often heard – 
Problem is, there is only one truth,
and it is seldom a man's word.

one's own truth if not innately noble

can make of a world, dreadful rubble

Love of books and chocolate and trees have been constant truths for me as has letter writing. Other truths have changed with age and life experience. Thanks for this poignant and insightful piece. Login to Reply Joe Dimino Date: 3/29/2022 4:31:00 PM Hi Joe; truth is simple while at the same time complex -- not a cop-out answer. In one way I have found, that when I need to convince myself of something, give a multitude of reasons why, it is probably a lie (truth being self evident); and then there is what science has taught us, things are seldom what they seem...and future discovery found to often clarifying what we mistakenly thought already clear. Personally I have found more Truth in Faith, a God who proves himself, inside of ourselves daily...not with pictures, sounds or words...but with undeniable sensed presence ~ we just know...enough to die when felt commanded to do so. It is love. That is the only truth. To a spiritual person, facts are not truth...no matter how seeming factual. I guess, using this logic, lies are not wrong...they are false ~ evil. Anyway, for the little it may be worth, this explanation gives better insight into motivation behind my poem. Just how I see it.
