South West Africa - a Poets Ache
South West Africa
What's worse than waking up to a sad reality is never waking up at all, waking to my sad reality leaves me wanting to sleep forever more.
At the depths of my heart I dug for the courage in order to say goodbye, as you chose cold as ice, a numbing too nice, not even a decade of love could suffice,
So as I move on, dreaming of what could have been, loneliness cannot find me as our son gives me the courage I need, as sad as it may be to say goodbye one last time, I beg you to release us from a country where we can no longer strive, my homeland left it's footprints deep and holds a peace deserving of my child. Where the dunes meet the ocean and the golden sands go far and wide, find it within yourself to let us go and build a life. I am shackled to your tiresome struggle, one that leads you a stray, I am torn in two although my heart remains with you, give your son the life you were deprived of and numb your wounds as you allow him the opportunity to bloom.
