Soul Betrayal
I, betray my soul, when I utter, no,
When I feel, yes; and my ignorance show;
To constant communication, within,
Hummed by God, like the breeze blowing in...!
My heart was like crystal: clear! Transparent!
Sky: devoid of dust-layers; with no errant;
I could see my conscience clear; like white clouds,
No fogs of guilt; no sins as mists-snow-crowds...!
Adam and Eve they eternally blame,
Am I not the one who brought on me shame?
Haven't I soiled, by lazy escapism,
Immaculate white garment of baptism...?
My conscience-self has never been betrayed,
By Judas-like powers, often portrayed;
I'm the betrayed and I'm the betrayer,
To my virtues and sins, I'm bricklayer...!
Advent arrives; lent enters and exits,
Christmas and Easter make yearly visits;
I take my pleasure in nightmare-filled sleeps,
Blocking the sun, soul, into darkness, leaps...!
Awake! Awake! O heart, mind, soul! Awake!
Awake! O bodily splendors! Awake!
Awake! O Internal wisdom! Awake!
Awake! Bloom into new soul, for my sake...!!!
