Sorry For Me Apple Tree
Shake the Apple Tree
And I very much doubt
You will find poor old little me
Or Eve standing by my side
And I very much doubt
You will find a talking snake either
Because the closest to the garden of eden
I will ever get or be actually let
Is looking from the inside out
For taking 1 single solitary bite
Cast into the shadows never more to see the light of day
Oh the cost and price we are to pay
When we choose the wrong path
At the crossroads set before us to test our souls
The tax and tolls are unforgiving
And make living from whence forth a daily struggle
If love is a warm all encompsing cuddle
Then mistakes are the muddied puddles
We can't see the bottom through
Shake me into submission
Until I can finally show some humility and contrition
For all the stupid things so many not worth mentioning
Those who I have harmed are willing to forsake
And if forgiveness drives a steak into my cruel heart
Then I shall hold my hands up and own up to my part
If healing is ever to start
Then heal me last
Until no more dye is left to cast
And then and only then if I am still found wanting
Give me the knife I will plunge it in myself
For i shall deserve nothing less
And should surely expect nothing more
