Listen to poem:
I married, left home oh, so young,
my life absorbed with songs unsung.
So far away from home I went;
so little time with you I spent.
Dear mom, I know your heart was stung;
my life absorbed with songs unsung.
Our time together was cut short
and for each other, less support.
Then came your grandchildren of three
the great demands kept me less free;
my life absorbed with songs unsung...
then into heartache, I was flung.
Your life would end before we could
spend time together as we should.
To missing you my heart is clung...
my life absorbed with songs unsung.

We always think there is time ahead to catch up with things we want to do or do
better. But, life is fragile, and 'time ahead' is not always guaranteed. My mom
passed away at age 55...I was positive we would have many years to spend more
time together...my regret.
