Sometimes, God… I see the trees, but not the forest I hear the music, but not the song I feel the ache, but not the burn Sometimes, dear God… I see the darkness, but not the dawn I hear the silence, beyond your embrace I feel what love is, but not how it stays Sometimes, precious Jesus… I see the cross, but not the faith I hear the wind, but never the twist I feel the light, touching my heart Sometimes, God… I see You in the sun, before I see the Son I hear You in the thunder, before I know fear I feel You in my life, before I believe You hear! Sometimes, God… I see the prayers I’ve prayed and still… I hear the words to “amazing grace” and still… I feel the need for Your gentle embrace… and still…. BELIEVE I will find You when I praise, with faith That You are with me, forever giving me… Forgiveness, hope, the answers – so I can know What it means to believe, to see, to agree… Dear God, You are here – living inside of me. Dear God, You are the stillness of each breath I breathe… Dear God, You are the One who restores my heart when I’m weak Dear God, You are the joy that reminds me to always seek… The hope, faith and love that You sent down to all the world, On that Christmas birth, so many long years ago… On that Christmas, when God was born to a dark and lonely world, On that Christmas, when love became more than the word… Love became the answer to every need Love became the One in whom I believe Love became the reason for my heart’s song Love became ONE who would change every wrong, Love became the answer to every soul Love became Christmas for those who know Your Love! Sometimes, God…. I see YOU in each heart who knows You as their hope!
