Something and Nothing

What is sought Statement beginning or question Both true Within a poem I'm understood Fleetingly, whilst simultaneously Being incomprehensible What, do I want There is truth between lines As breath is held Where a thought lingers, teeters The unacknowledged longing Of the soul to be seen Mirror examined To find prismatic The angles and dimensions, accurate But that is not me It is a facet Vision and ability to know Are confusing Because they reveal alternate views With a vastness of knowledge So the more I become, the less I am Growth is pain Self awareness without acceptance is hard All that is true, is forward motion

your poem is both dense and intense--I loved 'there's truth between lines (of a poem). To me the crux of your poem centers on these words: '..the more I become, the less I am' There's such a paradox in growth, for it makes one feel vulnerable and temporarily ungrounded. I agree, self awareness without acceptance is hard. Brilliant creation! have a great evening, Sara

On the face of human reality Dilly, forward motion appears persistently true, but we can get lost in moments where from our perspective time appears to stand still, and indeed these moments paradoxically make life worthwhile, (The more I become the less I am! another paradox within our temporal illusion) I honestly don’t know how you manage to pare back so many intangible (something and nothing) angles and dimensions of reality with such ease, brilliant cheers David

I wasn't sure if I was being a cliché when I wrote this as very likely January influenced. Hopefully I've tackled slightly beyond any 'new year, new you' type offerings and do rather fancy myself as the visionary you hint at :) haha I am actually sat here committing to drinking 5 litres of water a day and other such 'new you' stuff.
