Another brisk morning on my porch drinking coffee. I tried to describe it so I might appeal to your senses. Perhaps, you could stand on the porch beside me. I hope you enjoy the view:)
My porch is covered with a frosty sheen
Across the valley chimes ring Christmas tunes
West Mountain's dressed in winter evergreen
Fried bacon is the morning's sweet perfume
The lazy misty clouds are still asleep
A downy blanket laid on mountaintops
I watch the smoke from chimneys slowly creep
It hits the heavy air and then it stops
Yet silent stillness warms my aging bones
Inside my bubble, I see peace on earth
My loneliness subsides, though I'm alone
Cause soon we'll celebrate our Savior's birth
A glimpse of heaven for a country boy
The scene before me is my Christmas joy.
