Solitude
In a world where dreams dissolve to dust,
Where shining words now tarnish, rust,
Ideals once winged with hope and fire
Fall to truth stripped of desire.
Gone are those who held you near,
Their warmth replaced by creeping fear.
Each step you take against the tide
Leaves fading footprints none abide.
A realm awaits where none will see
The shadow of your memory.
Nightmare’s grip, both cold and tight
Solitude, your endless night.
Yet in time’s mirror, cruelly cast,
A younger self recalls the past.
I once stood where now you stray,
Bound by fate we share the way
