Solemn Death
Seize thoughts happy
For life seems brief;
Purge sad worry
For joy soothes grief.
Is death just grip
Where jest just pokes?
Is death a trip
Endless and deep?
Seize passage clear
In misty moods;
Live precious cheer
In all things good.
Is death jolly
With dizzy sleep?
Is death fancy
With slumber deep?
Seize happy play
Where frolic flows;
Live comic sway
Where wonder grows.
Is death funny
In tragic streams?
Is death lovely
In distant dreams?
