Soft Rain Drops
Soft raindrops fall like dew drops upon the grass
As I walk wearily down my street with this heavy load alone
No, it’s not a nature walk, but a walk to clear my head
Because he’s not free to take a walk, I walk for him and me
In hope, the rain will wash away the pain for him, I feel
Suffering shared, so easily conveyed, by the tears I shed
But soft rain walks with me out here
And gently kisses my face
Camouflaging my flowing tears
Yet, as I come 'round the bend to my front door,
My leaden spirit slowly rising
I see my rose bush thriving with
Remarkable abundance of buds!
Soft raindrops fall, like dew upon the grass
Gently kissing each bud in view
I smile and I realize that like the beautiful rose
Out of this pain we will grow
For God sends soft raindrops to ease growing pain
