So Fast a Falling Star

Never have I seen a star That did fall so very fast; Tis a pity that its brilliance Could not the longer last But stars sometimes go out that way, Having burned intensely bright; So we weep for their diminishment And a slightly dimmer night. ~M

Hey, I saw a shooting star and as my wires are crossed, I had to write about it--though it's not about the shooting star. Works great as a metaphor, however. Hope you're well, Olive...Hugs...Mel :)
