So Far
She knows well enough to whisper,
If she wants my full attention.
Still waters may run deep but
There's power in the currents below.
Remember the calm is always and only
The eye in the iddle of the hurricaine.
But, I don't tiptoe when I speak my mind
My little feets ain't built that way.
So far I haven't made a single
Promise that I could not keep.
I always do my level best to
Never make my baby weep.
Because it hurts my heart so!
And, she's real good with a gun.
