Notes About The Poem

Snowflakes

Snowflakes

White, soft, and perfect.
Everything we want to see
in a cold winter holiday
for you...
and for me.

Time to dress in hats and gloves,
heavy socks and boots
to keep us warm,
with hearts lifted,
blessed and gifted.

In the morning,
crisp and fresh,
in the evening...
cold unlike the rest.
Giving way to time together,
in front of the fire,
traditions renewed,
and old stories retold.

Holding hands and laughing,
talking and telling tales
of bright..., white..., starfish, and
crystal-clear living whales,
ice fishing, snow plowing,
and allowing
life to be lived,
as it should be,
not always as it is.

Thanks for sharing this. By God's grace, I greet you with the peace and joy of Christmas toward a prosperous New Year along this present: "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23 of the King James Bible). God bless you.
