Snow Day

soft morning glow through a veil of clouds a look out the window shows all roads are closed a blanket of white covers contours of ground big flakes snow still fall a twinge of panic felt at first I’m left to myself the busy world I’ve known has fallen silent I feel the burn of a shot of whiskey and eat some chips for comfort a warm touch of soup will do later I plot out my day then take another nap when I awaken but am still drowsy when I play a song words dance in my head I write a poem and write another something to show when I go out tomorrow and resume my life but for now I’m left with my thoughts I open the front door and look as a snowmobile makes its way through snow drifts covering the street

I loved reading your poem and the way you spend you day when the weather is bad.

So nice to read this. I like the formatting and this portrayal of a lazy day in!
