Lol and Hurray!! You’re coming home! I had to bribe the Unicorns with champagne (yum!) and caviar (yuck! who’d a thought Uni’s would like fish eggs.. lol!) to get them back to their gold-gilt stables - they sure got spoiled in the west wing.. damn that gimpy butler ;) I haven’t been here on PS for the past three weeks or so due to circumstances, so I apologize for my delay in responding to you, my dear sis. I hope all is well with you, Dragon Fire. I’ll catch you at the totem soon. Love and hugs, Illum the Sane :))

after the lull of winter the hibernating rose pushes through and greets the spring, we need to learn to appreciate each season, and yes even the snow. Lovely haiku Susan. Thank you for sharing.

"Hibernating" is the perfect word to describe the land beneath snow, Susan. Knowing life will rebound in spring helps us enjoy a beautiful snowfall even more. Excellent Haiku! You and Paul have quite a knack for this form. Love, Carolyn

Indeed, Carolyn, you truly feel the spirit of my haiku. I have always found snow comforting and have always regarded a blanket of snow as protective of the sleeping earth. Thank you for your lovely comments and for mentioning Paul, I have learned so much by reading his excellent poetry, and other talented poets/poetesses as well, yourself included my lovely friend. Warmest wishes always.. ~Susan

Very lovely imagery! Something to remember: good always hibernating in us, ready for our seasons of release. We are never entirely alone--though life is sometimes cold and isolating.

A haiku with feel that I can breathe in and delightfully exhale. I regret that I'm so 'click-scattered' on Soup that I haven't been led here lately as much as I would like. Think of you and have loved your poetry since I read the first syllable posted on Soup. Wishes for a fulfilling year ... CayCay

Reading your wondrous poem, I now understand why hibernate is not spelled 'hi-bear-nate.' As you have taught me, my poetic friend, land can hibernate too!! Warm winter wishes, Susan! ~ Gershon
