Smile of Faith-Fortitude
“A smile on her face and a gleam in her eye”*
Delighted my heart, exploding a jubilant sigh
Pleased with her good tidings I couldn’t deny…
Yes, her high school graduation is drawing nigh.
Admiring her expression of joy so earnest
I praise God for her achievement with labour’s best
While she attributed to the Lord her good harvest…
Yes, I can testify that this daughter of ours is surely blest.
Can she still remain glad midst pandemic’s pressure?
Likewise, her graduation** is affected with lockdown measure!
In her jovial mood, she takes such as quarantine-leisure…
Yes, she’s praying to find from it life-lessons’ treasure.
Seeing her contentment-bliss of cheerful attitude
I offer to the Almighty my utmost gratitude
For this child, once raised in our orphanage, with faith-fortitude…
Yes, she exudes grace***-driven growth along spiritual latitude.
*From the poem “Batter up” of Eve Roper.
**Her scheduled high school graduation is affected by our Government’s enforced Community Quarantine.
***2Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
