Smells of Autumn

Autumn begins with one fact, Sounded by first egg to crack. With eggs mixed In a batter, The outcome won't matter Because smoke is filling the shack.

I always get the urge to do some baking once the fall season comes around, and there are certain aromas that I associate with this time of the year... I enjoyed your clever and unique take on the "smells of autumn"... Great creative work, Hilda :)

Thank you. Attempting to bake and actually baking are two different things. I hope you have success. Thanks for your comment

Dear Hilda, You made me smile this morning, and I was expecting something totally different when I read the title. I was pleasantly pleased and chuckled. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Oh no! Dear Hilda, your humorous limerick is full of lively imagery. Indeed, fall and baking go together, but not the smoke in the shack, haha! Warmest wishes my poet friend.. ~Susan

This happens if we are not careful. Once when smoke filled the shack, that I remembered, I had kept something in the oven to bake. Quite humorous, Hilda.

Eggs are most plentiful in Spring. They become scarce in Autumn and winter. The store has run out of cage free eggs in my local store. Better hurry.

Dear Hilda, don't tell me you burned the scrambled eggs!!! Quite funny limerick.

Hilda, it sounds like you do what I sometimes do - depend on my smoke alarm to tell me, once again, I forgot something on the stove.

It's called the kitchen timer. Autumn means a lot of indoor work. I'm glad this poem relates.
