It's amazing what the sun can bleach How light can shine in and out of a place it shouldn't The workmanship means the walls stand strong But this place was always washed down at the end of the day It's presence standing here hasn't changed Where you walk in and don't walk out That feeling hangs in the air No matter how sunny it is

My first thoughts..The warmth of the sun juxtaposed with the cold place it once was. I have never heard of this artist until today so wanted to find out a little about her..cue cut and paste from Google Land: .."By all accounts, the American painter Gertrude Abercrombie (1909-1997) was one of a kind. She wore a pointy hat and drove a Rolls-Royce automobile that she could not afford. She was unabashedly egocentric; her paintings, she said, were all about herself and her inner life." Cheers - Gary

You missed the bit after that which I think was "yet all her friends found her enchanting" haha. There's actually a mistake and she died in 1977 which was the year I was born... Perhaps I need not have lead my very sensible life after all (although her demise not enviable). I did The Stroll as well by her. There are several I like but not sure if all would produce a unique poem. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated

Absolutely love this D No matter how sunny our outtake or disposition is or we may we want or wish it to be Walls cover sun Bleach cuts and washes dirt away But feeling are like the joker They never go away Can't be cut or bleached out And walls don't help either hiding behind You still get burnt at the end of the day
