Skater's Show
The leaves are rusty colored, like metal when it’s old
Some are wrinkled from the arrival of air that’s cold
Waiting for coverage from a blanket of white satin snow
Scattered piles of autumn’s memories are laying around
Sometimes running away with a gust, new places to be found
The ground isn’t frozen yet, but temperatures dive at night
Either way, the sunshine makes everything look bright
Even rusty leaves can glow, as the sparkling brook will flow
Ponds will later turn to ice, shining for the skater’s show
