Sitting comfortably in the half abstract

Reflections in panes of glass Echo half thoughts that obscure vision Nothing is clear Even when a barrier is transparent To be distracted by an object That I could turn around To view easily Makes no sense But I'm convinced there's a lens On my world view That puts it right Though it's unlikely to be Gazing without focus Or thinking without concluding What a pretty space The half abstract can be It's the eyes and free mind of the poet But it can be a prison Once again lost in thought As reality has trundled past Whilst I daydream Of waking up And being real

I enjoyed this poem. It made me feel like I was flying, then ended in reality.

Nice to be able to sit in an abortion of sound and not be bothered by distractions of life. Enjoyed reading. Thank you so much for my placement.

Thats the thing about overthinking... right? A bit of rain and a window pain are the perfect recipe for pondering.. I can see a different style here and I am impressed.. It is nice to see you adapt your writing style but still keep true to yourself..

This is the style that I usually bin but every now and again let it take a walk out. I'm not sure I have a style other than unrefined. I can find a poem in anything in the right mood but I do love discovered art in the ordinary - it can be fascinating

such a subtle description of the world beyond our reality and our eyes. Our mind's eye sees this so differently if we allow that to happen. I do enjoy when I day dream and slip away, then creativity flows. Perhaps any writer lives halfway between the two worlds?? Enjoyed the write and have a lovely day, Sara

Thank you Sara, I think there are certainly days when poems seem to appear in the ordinary and block vision whilst heightening it - it's fascinating in a way. Thank you for sharing your own experience x

Seeing what isn't there with the mind instead of the eyes. Nicely penned, DD. A good read:)

Thanks Danny, it's funny how long can be spent looking and thinking about apparently nothing but illusions but how would we write poems otherwise? (I suppose I could write about the stuff I see - I concede I'm not forced to sit in a daydream haha)
