Ghouls and goblins are such a fright
Wicked witches on brooms take flight
So, if you want free candy
Best keep a weapon handy
When Trick-or-Treating Thursday night
~ Lin Lane
Bob for apples if you double dare
There’s bats, snakes, and gators in there
With chocolate for mud
And candy for blood
The haunting may take out your hair
~ Karen Jones
Inhumanity on a roll
The scariest mask takes a toll
The treat is a trick
Its sweets make one sick.
The monster machine will steal soul
~ Kim Rodrigues
I took my grandkids out for trick or treat
People were kind with money or a sweet
Then someone gave a loud shout
Michael Myers was about
We ran like bats out of hell down the street...
~ Tom Cunningham
Halloween night is quite spooky for sure,
When someone knocks so loudly on my door,
There's no one in sight,
I turn out the light,
Then I hear ghostly figures scream and roar.
~ John Read
Never take a trick or treat from a ghost
Even if they are very kindly spoke
If you ask for a treat
You may get poisoned sweets
I once got a frog shoved right down my throat.
The frog jumped inside me all the night long
It croaked and mom thought i was singing songs
Until the frog leaped out
Into her open mouth
Then she knew that she'd got things very wrong
~ Beryl Edmonds
On Thursday it is Halloween
When witches and monster are seen
So, make sure you've candy
Keep LOTS of it handy
Or someone may cause a big scene
~ Jan Allison
The floorboards all groan and windows creak
Outside more than dark but less than bleak
Door rattles in its frame
Not quite my type of game
The devil's own brand of hide and seek
~ Dilly Dally
The coffin is full of some tasty treats
That the skeleton can't get round to eat
He who'd dare dip in
Surely could not win
Having to meet ghastly ghosts in white sheets.
~ Beryl Edmonds
The children are dressed in their scary costumes.
Excited and thrilled they are scared, there's a full Moon.
The first house that they arrive to.
They hear a Loud Howl and they're spooked!
They run for their Lives, on this cold afternoon!
~ Michael Tor
This morning, I had such an awful fright.
I swear it was the most hideous sight.
Those treats made me say "ick".
I'm afraid I got sick
in the mirror as I turned on the light.
~ David Crandall
