there are gaps, in sound grand pauses - the intentional evocateur! demonstrating that resonant pulse ~ how more bounces back from absence we are the preordained silence on a sea of sound, we are carried away yet, dropped into the ocean - our lives overwhelm us drowning as we exist in one, held, breath until sound plucks us out - saves us the truth is - silence can pull us under waiting is its placation whilst we strive to never linger beneath sound is not death just the open mind in crescendo the whole self, present experiencing all that ever reverberated in an eternity of thought so we gasp for air and tap our fingers a little longer hoping all those echoes won't haunt us

A brilliant poem Dilly, so much so I couldn’t get a word in edgeways, and listened silently at you deconstructing the process of how the mind perceives sound and more importantly the gaps in between, cerebral vision shown here picking out the background chatter that possibly haunts us all, great one for contest, cheers David

What a wise and brilliant take on craigs prompt, it really is another one of his most inspiring prompts, i really love the line "the truth is - silence can pull us under" i agree and the ending, would linger in my mind for a very long time. All that echoes wont haunt us, lets hope for that. Dear DD, you have a very refreshing and breathtaking way of writing, the depth and soul in your poem truly is moving and meaningful! Pleasure reading this gem! Best wishes, sending you light always
