Signs of Courage

Tears came rolling down my cheeks, As I watched this little girl so weak. Running around in her mother’s shoes, Forcing a laugh to forget her blues. She seemed so lost in pain, She will never see her mother again. Questions just kept rolling in my head. Who is going to put her to bed? Who is going to read her a bedtime story? When she cries, who is going to worry? Who is going to give her a hug when she falls? Her mother is not there when she calls. The nights will be long and the days longer, She will feel emptiness without her mother. This little girl is left with memories and things, To face life with courage and whatever it brings. I know how it feels when my mother’s away, I’m still lucky; I am with her at the end of the day.
