autumn haiku - set of three poetry contest -sponsored by Tania Kitchin.

autumn's sky ablaze
shades of red orange and pink ~
sunset masterpiece 

geese in formation 
flying to warmer climates ~
honking their goodbyes

an arachnid's silk 
glistens with the morning dew ~
spider clings in wait

Generally I look for your Limericks, I know where to find a smile; but I saw 'haiku' in your bunch and couldn't resist. You did not disappoint. I hope you have had a peaceful year thus far Tom.

Thank you very much Flo, always thought poems had to rhyme, that is until I joined soup. Always come back to rhyme though, once a rhymer always a rhymer. Out of the four autumn is my favourite season. I hope you are keeping well and that you too have a healthy and peaceful year. Tom

I enjoy your autumn haiku. Your words were very descriptive. I'm too far inland to see the geese but I did when I was near the ocean. The migrating geese are spectacular.

Mother Nature eh? In this chaotic and somewhat unbalanced world of ours Mother Nature reliably brings with her an air of calm and balance to the proceedings doesn’t she? Thank you very much Gary, we'll it's well underway now, saw my first flock of geese heading south last Saturday, I do find it a calming season though. Colours it delivers are amazing, my daughter phoned last night to say the Northern lights were visible in the northern sky, amazing colours of red, first time I'd seen them. Have a great weekend.
