Should They Have Left England
They were pilgrims, used to following another’s direction.
This was a strange country; they thought they would find meat.
The forest was silent; would they starve? Neither said it.
Both were thinking it.
Should they have left England? Was this a mistake?
They thought this new country would be a fresh start.
They had been so eager! So excited! So thrilled.
Both were feeling discouraged today.
There is a rabbit! The wife said.
The musket gun was slow.
They missed it.
Luckily, the Indians had left a fat pig on their doorstep.
They discovered it when they arrived home.
