Short Conversation

I heard a bird, A sweet red bird,
So I stepped out back to see.
Mrs. Mockingbird, told all she heard.
What a gossip she turned out to be.
I knew it was wrong, but I let her go on,
Singing that redbird melody.
At the end of the song, she nodded so long,
Flew away to a mulberry tree.

How sweet and lovely is this. Very. Good Morning Daniel. This is such a feel good entry with peace and happiness and more. May we always see and hear the birds for a short conversation before they move on to another post to grace. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful day. Blessings always (smile)

Daniel, I love the simplicity of your poem - it's just wonderful and so in tune with nature (pardon the pun). I like the human trait of 'gossiping' that you have given the mockingbird (that copies other birds' songs) and your gently delivered message that gossiping is wrong. Cheers - Gary

Thank you, Gary. My kind of humor:) Did you ever play that game in school where the teacher whispers something to the first student and he turns and whispers it to the one behind him etc then at the end see what the last student heard. That's gossip in a nutshell. Great to see you again, my friend.

You've made an excellent point about gossips and the ones who encourage them by listening! They can't run their mouths unless someone listens! Good poem, Danny. Janice

I've heard that mockingbirds have a habit of imitating other birds. Are you sure you were only conversing with her? A very enjoyable read, at any rate, Daniel.
